Emergency
responders ask that you follow these simple tips to ensure they can
quickly get to where help is needed.
-
Obey all
traffic signals. A quickly changing traffic light may mean an
emergency vehicle is approaching.
-
Whenever an
emergency vehicle approaches from any direction pull you vehicle
slowly over to the right side of the road and stop. Sudden
maneuvers may panic or confuse other drivers.
-
Never try to
beat an emergency vehicle through
an intersection. They may be moving faster that you anticipated.
Often, emergency vehicles are heavy and require a greater
stopping distance.
-
The Fort
Washington Fire Company also uses Fire Police to help control
traffic at intersections. Please obey the Fire Police to help
ensure their safety as well as yours.
Bob Lester is the Chief Engineer
